A relationship is weakest after adultery; it is the period that can break or make the relationship.   Nobody really appreciates being cheated on but cheating and infidelity are just an indication that there is an underlying problem in the relationship and this has to be solved if the relationship is to be saved.  If there is anything grateful about adultery, it has at least taught us that this problem is there and it must be solved.   

You have the advantage that your relationship has hit its low point.  If you succeed to save your relationship after adultery, things can only get better.    You have no choice but to rebuild the relationship from its foundations upwards.  The hard decisions that you have been fighting subconsciously to put off for so long, must now be taken.  You can’t let yourself go back into the old relationship under the previous terms as all that will happen is that the same problems will repeat themselves. 

You must know in detail what the problem was if you are going to find a binding solution.   You must separate from each other to allow both of you to recover mentally and reflect on what has happened.    You need to evaluate the relationship away from the emotions of being together. You have to view your relationship with perspective to understand what has really happened.

You may feel that your time would be better spent watching over everything your partner does but you will be wrong.   You both need some time apart to reflect on all the angles if you are to find the solutions that will eventually enable you to mend your relationship.  You can’t  begin to put things right until you are sure of what has to be done.  You must spend this time away from each other to determine exactly why your partner was unfaithful.

These first two steps over, you are now ready to begin to rebuild your relationship.   It is going to be a completely new relationship so start out as if you were dating someone else.   This new relationship needs to be different in that it should be much stronger with the only difference being that you remember the old mistakes you made.   You don’t to be repeating them new relationship.

Managing to save your relationship after adultery will not be easy, but very satisfying if yousucceed.   You should always remember that there is plenty of help available to you from different sources.    It is for you to set about finding it and making the best of your new relationship
