If you want him back he needs to miss you, it seems from this point. I think he already has an idea of how you feel, but a short time apart should help give him some time to think about what you guys had. You can’t let it play out for too long though, since you may lose him.
You know that I don’t know the answer to that. Only you and him know. By speaking with him you will be able to see how he acts towards you. If you still feel that spark then there is hope.
